Letter from Chapter President

Letter from Chapter President Mike Davis, PE, CCM

To All,

As we head into the new year, the Central Virginia Chapter of CMAA is gearing up. Starting this year, we will have our meetings scheduled for the last Wednesday of each month from 4 pm to 5:30. This will give everyone a consistent date of our meeting to assist in managing your individual schedules. Also, thanks for Don Young, Chairman of CM Certification, we are able to issue PDHs for our meetings that meet the requirements. As always, we are scheduling the meetings alternating between Richmond area and Norfolk area to assist with the geographical boundaries of our chapter. We will also start sending out reminders of the meetings by Ken Sechrest, Chairman of Membership, to assist with reminding all of the upcoming meetings.

I am attaching the schedule of meetings for the next year with events already in the works for January, February, and March. We are looking to you to assist in developing meeting topics, presentations, or site visits to projects that you may be able to do. Send your ideas and the month you would like to set this up to the Chapter Board for discussion and confirmation. We are sticking to the CMAA's seven functions - Project Management, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Management, Safety Management, and Program Management. In addition, we will also have several "social networking" meetings at a central location in Williamsburg.

As for the January meeting on the 29th , we will have a panel discussion on Design Build that will be able to allow PDHs to be issues for those that need them. Please plan to be in attendance this January 29th and watch our chapter grow over the year. DON'T FORGET TO BRING A GUEST.

Mike Davis, PE, CCM
